On May 10-11, 2022 a seminar for the participants of the international competition for the Concept Design of the Kazan Cathedral Mosque and Surrounding Area was held in Kazan

It is worth reminding that 20 participants from seven countries (Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, UAE and Egypt) out of more than 40 teams submitted for the contest passed to the second stage. The two-day intensive and very informative program included a sightseeing tour of the historical part of Kazan with visits to the oldest mosques of the city, excursions to museums, visits to the area, the territory of the future construction of a new Cathedral mosque.

During the program, teams-participants had a meeting with members of the Expert Board, where they were able to get answers to all the questions of interest and concern regarding the conceptual solution, historical content, technical issues, which will certainly be taken into account in the development of competitive bids.

Among the experts were representatives of the Kazan Mayor’s Office, the Spiritual Board of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan, teachers of specialized educational institutions, famous architects, whose works can be seen in many cities of the Republic, Russia and even abroad. Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil hazrat Samigullin, Chief Architect of Kazan Ilsiyar Tukhvatullina, General Director of SUE Tatinvestgrazhdanproekt Adel Khusnutdinov voiced their wishes, suggestions and clarifications to the participants.

Contestants noted the importance of the seminar and the opportunity to meet, network, get inspired, and get advice from leading experts.
