Wooden mosque in the village of Malaya Atnya, Atninskiy district, Republic of Tatarstan
June 1
A single-storey wooden basilica mosque. The high gable roof is topped by a low octahedral minaret covered with an octahedral hipped roof with a crescent. The cornice of the hipped roof is made three-layered, according to the tradition characteristic of mosque architecture. Under the cornice there is a low octagon in the form of a traditional for minarets “lantern” with the glazing on each side. The lower tier of the minaret is painted in a dark green color and decorated with a three-row cornice. The entrance is on the west side and leads to a warm seni. There is a mihrab projecting from the wall on the south side. On the long side of the mosque, three windows illuminate the prayer hall. The walls are lined with siding and the roof is made of galvanized iron. Traditionally, the mosque stands in a courtyard and is fenced with a simple fence. The mosque is similar to the samples from the late 19th-early 20th centuries in its volumetric planning.
