The Islamic infrastructure of Tatarstan was replenished by 19 facilities in 2022

In 2022, 14 new mosques opened their doors in Tatarstan, including two in Kazan. Among them, there are mosques with a capacity of several dozen and several hundred people. Two mosques have been opened in the Arsky and Pestrechinsky districts of the republic, one after onein the mukhtasibats of Mamadyshsky, Novosheshminsky, Alkeevsky, Cheremshansky, Aktanyshsky, Bavlinsky, Zelenodolsky, Almetyevsky, Kirovsky and Moskovsky, Sovetsky districts of Kazan. It is noteworthy that mosques began to be built as complexes, including not only squares for reading namaz, but also classrooms, halls for holding majlises, canteens, wedding centers, shops, places for organizing sacrifices and conducting janaz, houses of the imam.
In Tatarstan, the public is looking forward to the opening of 2 more remarkable mosques. The first one is the Cathedral Mosque in the village of Maskara, the Kukmorsky district, which is a site of cultural heritage, built in 1791-1793 by merchant Gabdulla Utyamyshev. In 2022, restoration work began in the mosque building and fundraising for these purposes was announced. Fundraising was also opened for the construction of the Cathedral mosque in Kazan. A memorial stone was solemnly erected at the construction site of the mosque.
The Islamic infrastructure in Tatarstan was also enlarged by 3 educational centers in 2022. This year, Gabdulla Tukai Spiritual and Educational center was opened in Arsk; Hidayat educational center and the educational building of the central mosque of the Novosheshminsky Mukhtasibat were opened in Kukmor.
Last year, with the support of the President of Tatarstan, R. N. Minnikhanov, the construction of 2 new buildings of the complex of Mukhammadiya historical madrasah in Kazan was completed. The administrative building and the dormitory of the madrasah became a great gift for his 140th birthday. The dormitory for Shakirds is 3–storey, with a total area of 2,174.45 sq. m. Here, in addition to residential premises, there are classrooms, a medical center, a gym and other technical rooms. The dormitory is connected to the new administrative building of the madrasah through a ground crossing. The total area of the building is 2,798.67 sq. m. The building includes 3 classrooms, a conference hall for 118 people, a dining room, offices of the management and staff of the madrasah, and other auxiliary premises.
The increase in the number of prayer rooms in public places of the capital was also a great joy for Kazan Muslims. This year, thanks to the efforts of the Association of Muslim Entrepreneurs of the Russian Federation, they opened the doors at 3 sites. They were at the Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Surgery of the Children’s Republican Clinical Hospital, Kazan TSUM shopping Center, and Ramus Mall shopping center in Nizhnekamsk. Thus, 3 musallas were opened this year.
